While Christmas shopping in SF a few weeks ago, I fell in love with these lights I photographed in the courtyard outside a new favorite design shop, ATYS. Imagine my joy when I later saw them online at Ikea! These outdoor chandeliers are part of Ikea's beautiful (and affordable) Kallt lighting series. Makes me wish (again) that I had a big yard with big, branchy trees.

ALSO, I wanted to wish my beautiful Mom a very Happy Birthday!

These fireplaces were posted a while back on one of my favorite interior blogs Desire to Inspire. Some of them are a bit too modern for my taste, but I still think they are seriously cool. They are all made by a fireplace design company called Focus based in the South of France. {Images from Focus, via Desire to Inspire}

Sandra Juto of smosch has a shop chalk full of great little fingerless gloves, called Wrist Worms. I have a similar pair I love, but these are even better...handmade! Although where I'm going in Washington, I'll be needing the fingers. 0° right now!

Luxe little finds...all under $15. {Symthson Panama Pencil $13 (what a beauty!), Crate&Barrel Flutes $7.95, Kikkerland Ball Alarm Clock $15}

Today I am home sick fighting the type of cold you don't want the week before Christmas. The scene in my living room looks something like this... {photograph by the talented James Merrell}

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! My last-minute gift guides are done and will be going up next week... In the meantime, here is my pick of what to give the person that has everything. (And even the person that doesn't). {Image from .IM(agine)'s flickr. I love shots like this... I believe it's called bokeh?}

I am gaga over these glass ornaments at Anthropologie. They remind me of Moroccan lanterns.

It has been a while since I've had the urge to do anything crafy and handmade... but when I stopped by Trader Joe's the other night (after forgetting my chico bag) I was taken by how cute their Holiday paper grocery bags were. I felt compelled to use them again and after some card stock and double-sided tape, I now have gift tags to use for Christmas!

In case you haven't seen the photos coming out of Venice this week, they are pretty incredible. (Umm... wakeboarding in St. Mark's Square?!) Venice's acqua alta rose to the highest it's been in 22 years... and one of the highest since the 1800s. The city is so spectacular, I couldn't imagine the loss if it actually sank. Stay dry Venetians! {Images from here}

I love these NYC polaroids by Jen Gotch and how much they just feel like winter. I am excited that it is December and I can begin my Christmas shopping/making!
