Jenny Beorkrem of Ork Posters has just released a Seattle edition -- my hometown! (Algthough I have to say I'm not totally sold on the colors. Please oh please white on grey?) Also, it looks as though Portland, Toronto, DC are on their way. {Ork Posters}

NATE BERKUS
As soon as I flipped to a Malibu beach home designed by Nate Berkus in the November issue of C Magazine, I had to rip all the pages out to save. His ideas were so simple, clean, and interesting -- especially the use of old beachwood on the wall in the stairway (above).

SF

I was in SF this weekend visiting David and in all the time we have been together, I never knew quite how amazing the views from the (unfortunately off-limits) rooftop of his Nob Hill apartment really were. He has definitely been holding out on me... the bridge!
Also, I have to share this crazy story. After a very relaxing weekend, I boarded a super early morning flight back to Santa Barbara only to have all of my relaxing undone. I opened my eyes a while after takeoff to a beautiful clear sunrise breaking over the cloud canopy and, nearly simultaneously, to the slowing of the propeller on the right hand side of the small commercial plane. Apparently a plane can fly with just one properly functioning propeller because ours did. As we came in for a steep landing back at SFO, I thought, wow there are a lot of fire engines on that runway. Then I put my heart back in my chest and nearly hugged the pilot.

LOTTA JANSDOTTER CALENDAR
Another multi-month (fabric!) calendar from another one of my favorite printers, Lotta Jansdotter.
SUMMERHOUSE IN DENMARK

Materialicious is one of those blogs that is consisent and intriguing in its reporting of home design and architecture, but has really left me coming back for more with this conversion of a farmhouse into a summer home in Denmark. Blue stairs! {credits: LASC studio, Laura Stamer Photography}
EGG PRESS
Egg Press has just put out their 2009 calendars, and I am a big fan. Lately, as I have felt my time spiraling out of control, I have been feeling the need for multi-month wall calendars like this one. It is worth it here as well to mention their simple, sharp letterpress cards...

LIGHT BLUBS

These Light Blubs, designed by Dutch-born Pieke Bergmans, are a clever re-design of the standard light bulb... and are, as one Apartment Therapy reader described, "sort of disturbing for some reason." I think Salvador Dali would approve. {View Pieke Bergmans' other crazy work with glass here and this table here}
CATH
Although this song is a tad depressing, I just think it so pretty and I can't seem to get it out of my head! {Video: Cath by Death Cab For Cutie}

WEEK END
This week has been a doosey, hasn't it? Thought I would at least end on a high note.
I like THESE PLATES by John Derian.
THIS PHOTO is one of the most beautiful I have seen in a while.
MUJI comes to JFK!
These HELSINKI KIDS are too much.
I am intrigued by THESE CHAIRS.
And last but certainly not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both of my brothers!

JAMES MERRELL

I have, often subconsciously, been noticing the interior photography of James Merrell everywhere. I don't know if he personally chooses the interiors he shoots, but I love almost every one of them for various reasons... {More here. All images by James Merrell}

BLUE
I could not resist sharing these beach house photos from a 2005 Bazaar posted on Habitually Chic's blog. That photograph of the blue goblets alone... {Home of Pamela Skaist-Levy}

ROUND MIRRORS
I really like the look of round mirrors and I am especially drawn to bulls eye mirrors (such as these), which are usually convex. Maison 21 shared this fantastic selection from The Federalist, based in Greenwich, Connecticut, and I love them all!
{post script: I couldn't find any item names, so I believe the numbers are for ordering, so you call and say that you would like a No. 8, please}

.V ITALY POLAROIDS

These polaroids taken in Italy by the talented Australian Vanessa have really made me smile, and inspired me yet again to buy some film before it's too late. {Images: lake como, beach umbrellas, milano. Copyright .v}
