ARCHIVES

Taking cue from sfgirlbybay, I have been spending time with my favorite interior ideas from Domino Magazine's My Deco Files before they're gone... the site and archives will soon be shut down. Sad! {Image credits (clockwise from top left): via here, Lucas Allen, Mikkel Vang, Simon Upton.}

HEMLOCK 82

So far in my life, I have yet to make one of those bold, have-to-have-it decisions to buy a fantastic original piece of art. When I do get there, I am expecting a similar feeling to how I reacted to Hemlock 82, this relief print of a hemlock ring by artist Bryan Nash Gill. Measuring 52" x 38.5", the detail must be amazing. {Sold by Ashes & Milk. View Gill's process here.}

TEAK BATH

I have never seen anything quite like this stunning teak bath sold by Water Monopoly, seen on this is glamorous a while ago. Handmade by boat builders in Scotland, I can't imagine a more pretty tub.

MAX BILL

I have to give David credit for introducing me to this lovely Max Bill clock from the 1960s... which apparently he has been loving for a while. Fortunately it is still made by the original German manufacturer, Junghans.

ICONIC

I love these old images from a recent advertisement for the iconic Coral Casino beach club here in Santa Barbara. After a beautiful restoration, it is just as glamorous as ever, but it would have been amazing to see it when the diving pools were there!

SPRING

JCrew's spring looks are out and have left me ready for warmer weather and longer days. I especially like their in-studio inspiration board (above).

IN THE MAIL

Our local Anthropologie is moving. Thankfully, it's not moving far. Although it will no longer be housed in its lofty, 2 story space, it will only be about 4 blocks further and in a space I have heard is equally as beautiful. One of the reasons I am happy about the change is this lovely invite to the reopening I received in the mail. If only all invitations were done so well! {Although I have to point out that this one is done so well!}

ROCKETT ST. GEORGE

I just discovered quirky British online retailer Rockett St. George (the name comes from the last names of the owners. Isn't Rockett a cool last name?!) and adore the things in their shop. And now that the exchange rate is finally favorable, it's a good time to buy those British things you've always wanted. {From top to bottom: made in england rolling pin (love this!), union jack cushion, skyline tumblers, handmade silver bowls}

LIVING ETC.

In light of the recent news that Domino Magazine is folding, it is a good time to look abroad for some fresh magazine meat. One of my favorites is Living etc. out of the UK. In addition to their great magazine, they have a fantastic website filled with photo galleries of rooms and ideas. These are a few of my favorites.

SMOSCH PRINT

I am bummed that this print by the talented Sandra Juto is already sold out...
