RAYA PHOTOGRAPHY

If you've ever visited my friend Raya's popular blog, The Paper Pony, then you will already be familiar with her amazing photography... but there is more. She has recently relaunched her photography website, Raya Photography, which is chalk full of some of her best work. Have a look and be prepared to be smitten...

ENVELOPE A+D

I love the concept and execution of Claire Bigbie and Jay Shapiro's Victorian duplex renovation in San Francisco. Designed by Envelope A+D, the duplex was renovated into a uniquely functional space, with the upstairs for living and the lower level turned personal studio. (What an amazing work space!) Read more about the project here. {Images by Todd Hido. Via my favorite source for endless interior ideas, Desire to Inspire.}

SUNSET BREEZEHOUSE

Jess Chamberlain of Sunset Magazine has been killing it as a guest blogger over at Design Sponge this week with her eco-friendly posts and interviews. I loved her post on Flora Grubb Gardens in San Francisco and her post on Michelle Kaufman of Michelle Kaufman Designs, the progressive design firm that paired with Sunset to create the Sunset Breezehouse. I have to admit I have a slight fear of prefab homes, but this eco-friendly model defies my fears and I love it! Click here to find out more about the environmental efficiency of the Breezehouse.

CUCKOO

I don't know about your office wall, but mine would definitely be more fun with this incredible Diamantini & Domeniconi cuckoo clock. {Available at Rockett St. George}

ANNENBERG BEACH HOUSE

This weekend the City of Santa Monica will be holding the grand opening of the long-awaited Annenberg Community Beach House (adjacent to the old Marion Davies estate)—complete with O by Cirque du Soleil performers. Not your average beach house, this one will be open to the public and will not require a spendy membership, just your basic community pool fees. The beach house will be opening weekends in May with beach-front facilities including a pool, tennis and volleyball courts, a cafe, event space, and even a bike valet (translation: good luck with parking). Click here for more information.

EARLY SUMMER

I am a big fan of Carlo Van de Roer's photography of oceans and pools and thought it would be a great week to share. We've been having an early-season heat wave here in California and it is positively lovely. We had a wonderful weekend in the sun (I tried stand-up paddle boarding for the first time!) and now I am wanting it to be all summer all the time. {Images of the Bondi Baths in Sydney by Carlo Van de Roer, available on 20x200.}

TOAST UK

Lately I have really enjoyed flipping through the online catalogs of British home and clothing outpost, Toast. Their simple products with smart styling have me wishing that we had one here in the US. View their clothing collection here...I am loving the summer check scarves.

FOUND TYPE

I have no idea where this picture was taken, but it has been a long while since I've come across a piece of found type that I love as much as this... reminds me of this one! {Source unknown}

EAT.SHOP

As a travel guide junkie, I have to say it is big deal for me to find a new favorite. Enter eat.shop guides. With cheeky and accurate picks in a whole slew of cities (mostly in the US), these little guys do a great job of mixing it up. They are also available as online books (and even better, as an online subscription to them all for $50), and will soon be downloadable as pdfs. So far I have just used eat.shop San Francisco, but I have to say, the recommendations have been spot on. {Bonus: eat.shop iphone apps are on the way!}
